Daytrotter/Weekends With Whitney/ MTV

Oh, what fun Daytrotter was! Noam and I left Chicago around 9 AM, bright and early for a fun filled day.. We recorded four songs, 3 originals, 1 cover and it was such a blast.. Pics are on FB!!

Many thanks to Whitney Reynolds of Weekends With Whitney on NBC for having me on their Salute Your Troops Memorial Day TV Special. I cant wait for it to air!! I didnt know I was going to be singing God Bless America but I was so honored to do so in closing out the special :) Air dates to be announced!

I was an extra for MTV’s COmedy series Underemployed, yes! I never thought I would be decked out in Army gear. It was such a lengthy process getting the outfit on; the expereince made me really think about what it must be like not only to correctly dress like a soldier but to have to fight every day like a soldier would. I am really grateful for all the fight they put in for our country.. Really incredible stuff. The “youtube video” we shot will air in an upcoming episode, us being one of the characters’ fellow friends and soldiers making a silly video for a loved one back in the US. It is really silly too :)

Ready for more adventures!! Cant wait to see what lies ahead.

Martyrs!

The band and I are so excited to be playing Martyrs in Chicago this Saturday.. we are working hard on new music and we are thrilled to give them life for the first time Saturday.

We have a special guest guitarist for the show, SXSW stories to share and plenty of Cds for sale!

The music starts at 9 PM, tickets are $10 and the show is 21 and up.

See you then we hope :)

2011 reflections

Reflections on 2011

I couldn’t be happier gearing up for 2012 and all. The band and I have had some really wonderful times this year. In an effort to be thankful and reflective let’s look back no?

*We played Fox Morning show and WGN Midday News this year. Both were fun although the presence of Benny the Bull on the Fox set will sure be hard to beat by any future TV performances! At WGN, we did get to go on what seemed to be the Lottery Drawing/Bozo set though. I think it is in fact a tie.

*The band and I shared the stage with some awesome national touring bands and artists like The Damnwells, Harper Blynn, The Lumineers, Matthew Santos, and William Beckett of The Academy Is. I might add, Harper Blynn and The Damnwells were also quite generous with their whiskey at the show we played together at Lincoln Hall. That really means something right there..

*Speaking of which, the band and I have played some really wonderful Chicago venues like Schubas, Lincoln Hall, Abbey Pub, Reggies, and soon to be Subterranean in January. We were also fortunate enough to play a 2011 Lollapalooza after-party. Man, I love this city.

*The first ever Jennifer Hall record entitled ‘In This’ was self-released September 3rd, 2011. There was even a big party at Schubas to celebrate! That was truly an evening to remember.

*This December, a bit further out of Chicago, I was fortunate to record a Daytrotter with my friend, Alex aka Leonard Friend. What a pleasure it was meeting the crew there.. Good musical vibes were definitely swirling about. That has to be a favorite experience so far.

*Despite the issue of territory, I am proud to say I sang the National Anthem for both the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs. Both fields were so beautiful and filled with fans. Those were a couple of good days :)

I am so looking forward to the many opportunities and experiences this next year will bring. For anyone that has purchased a record, come to a show or simply stopped by this page, the Facebook page or the Twitter page, I say an enormously heartfelt and sincere thank you to you. You are the reason I can get away with doing something I love alongside super talented fellows and make music we hope folks will enjoy.

Cheers to you and all the fun and joy 2012 may bring everyone :)

2012, here we come!

The band I hope your holiday was wonderful with much family cheer, food and drink and such :)

Much as been happening in the Jennifer Hall camp in the last few months and we couldn’t be happier staying busy and all! We will be ending the year with a WGN performance and a show with William Beckett of “The Academy Is…” at Reggies. I feel good things in 2012! We have a big full band show at Sub-T on January 7th sharing the bill with some amazing bands incl The Congregation, Harris and The Mood and Bassel and The Supernaturals. Hooray!

Thanks for stopping by the new page/blog. I am excited to keep adding entries and goodies as we inch into 2012 :)
